As a Midwesterner of Syrian descent, the importance of my family and my faith are integral parts of who I am and both have had a profound impact on my goals, vision and aspirations for my company, Lilli Reed Design. Both represent support and love and are the sources from which we draw the strength and courage to make our way in life. And to me, both are part of the same force.
I believe that "family" goes beyond our parents and siblings, beyond our cousins and aunts and uncles, beyond even the concept of a "village" being family. Our family, if we are honest and allow ourselves to be as open as we are able, is God's family - The entire world. This has been the emotional path I have taken with my jewelry making and is what I strive for Lilli Reed Design to represent.
While jewelry design for me started as something I did for my daughter and immediate family and friends, it has evolved over the years into something I do with the hope of giving back to the world. Through sourcing and handpicking all of my materials, my interactions with amazingly giving peoples from around the globe has helped me see that for Lilli Reed Design to mean anything, it must be about more than jewelry. It is about giving back and contributing to our fellow family members around the world.
This understanding has lead to my deep involvement in such amazing organizations and outreach efforts as my father's work in Africa, H.E.L.P. Malawi, Feed the Children, Susan G. Komen, and others. I hope you will take a few moments to read our "Outreach" page and learn a little more about these important efforts. This is what drives me. This is what it's all about. Our family. Our global family.
