Outreach

The following organizations are just some of the worthy causes that are near and dear to my heart and the hearts of all of us here at Lilli Reed Design. It is my sincere hope that you will take some time to read about the good that they do, and consider adding your support to these wonderful organizations. Every kind act, no matter how large or small, does make a difference.

My Dad, Jim Stewart interacting with the children of the Maasai Tribe in Kenya.

Maasai Tribe of Southern Kenya

Located in the area of Kenya between Nairobi and Tanzania, the Maasai tribe that my father is currently working with are some of the poorest people in the world materially, yet they are among the happiest, joyful, and content people you will ever meet. They share freely what they do have with each other and visitors alike, and do so with great joy. My father and his group’s goal is to help with material support to be used to help women and orphans by providing resources to start small businesses, provide for schooling supplies, offer much needed food, and to provide medical services to reduce maternal and childhood death rates. In this as always, my father is a great inspiration to me and I am proud to help him in his important work.

H.E.L.P. Malawi

help-malawi

H.E.L.P, (which stands for Hope, Education, Love, Protection) is a global organization dedicated to helping the millions of children around the world who struggle every day to survive the harsh realities of poverty, hunger, and disease. Their work in Malawi, a country that suffers from extremely poverty-stricken conditions, is just the beginning of what they hope to build into a global force for the good of children. Please help them grow on that beginning and achieve that noble goal.

One of my resources for materials in Nepal who specialize in beads.  Started by Jeri Gerard and her husband Wayne, A World of Good is a great example of a company practicing globally respectful commerce. In their efforts to give back to the region that they are so involved in, A World of Good supports several Nepal-focused charities and help groups including the Kathmandu Environmental Project (www.keepnepal.org), Nepal Youth Opportunities Foundation (www.nyof.org), and Educate the Children (www.etc-nepal.org).
